Surface : 12.170 Kmq. (4700 sq miles)  - The insular territories of the South Atlantic include Falkland/Malvinas, South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands, all of them under British administration and claimed by Argentina. Falklands/Malvinas  is the main archipelago with over 200 islands.

System : The Falklands/Malvinas are an Overseas Territory, claimed by Argentina, with a Governor named by the Foreign Office who acts as head of State in representation of Her Majesty. Internal government rests on the Legislative Council with eight elected members and a Speaker presiding plus an Executive Council, where the Governor sits in. Defence and Foreign Relations are responsability of London.
