is located on the east coast of the Mediterranean Sea, west of Jordan
and to the south of Lebanon. The territory of Palestine covers around
10,435 square miles (around 26500 square km).The area includes Gaza,
Jericho, Jenin, Nablus, Tulkarem, Qalqilya, Ramallah, Betlehem and

| Climate: There are four seasons
in Palestine. Winter is mildly cold and rainy while summer is usually
hot and dry. Autumn is pleasant and spring is beautiful with the wide
array of wild flowers and blooming tress. Average temperatures in
Palestine range from 9-18 C in winter and 26-30 C in summer.
Regardless of the season, visitors are advised to wear modest dress
especially when visiting holy sites. |
| Visa: Most visitors to Palestine
arrive either at Gaza Int'l Airport or Tel Aviv airport. Visa
regulations are set by the Israelis and some nationals are given visas
upon arrival (see below for details). Tourists can rent a car in any
city or use public transportation or take a taxi to get around. There
are two kinds of license plates: green and yellow. Yellow plates are
mostly used by Israelis and residents of Jerusalem.

in Palestine include the Jordanian dinar and the U.S. dollars but most
popular is the New Israeli Shekel (NIS). The Shekel is divided into
100 agorot. There are 200, 100, 50 and 20 NIS notes; 10, 5, and 1 NIS
coins; and 50, 10 and 5 agorot coins. |
