| Climate: The Czech Republic is located
on the borderline between two great climatic regimes, the oceanic and the continental, and
the weather consequently tends to be fairly variable in different regions. The average
annual temperature ranges between 5.5°C (42°F ) and 10°C (50°F ), but temperatures are
lower in the mountains. The average annual rainfall is 693 mm (27 inches). The normal
summer temperature varies between 23°C (73°F) and 29°C (84°F), and the normal winter

U.S. and Singaporean citizens can stay for up to 30 days without a visa. Most citizens of
the E.U., Switzerland, and New Zealand can stay for 3 months without a visa. Irish,
Canadian, and U.K. visitors can stay for 6 months without a visa. Other nationalities will
require a visa and they should check with an embassy as fees vary by country of origin.
Business visitors will need a suitable visa, which requires an invitation from a Czech
company or government official. Only basic business research can be conducted on a tourist
visa. All visas must be obtained in advance. All travelers must have onward tickets, valid
travel documents, and sufficient funds (US$270). Registration in each town is no longer
enforced, but the law is still on the books. It is best to check with your hotel operator
about this procedure. Carry copies of your visa and passport to leave at hotel offices. |
