| Surface: Nicaragua is located in the heart of Central America,
bordered by Honduras to the north, Costa Rica to the south, the Atlantic Ocean (Caribbean
Sea) to the east, and Pacific Ocean to the west. Nicaragua covers
an area of 130,682 km ( 49,759 miles ), making it the largest country in Central America. |

| Climate: The zone between the Nicaragua
and Managua lakes and the Pacific ocean is dry and relatively little precipitation.
Temperatures are in a range between 27ºC and 32ºC (81ºF y 90ºF) along the rainy season
(locally call "invierno") and between 30ºC and 35ºC (86ºF and 95ºF) during
the dry season (called "verano"). Verano season runs approximately from November
to April and Invierno from May to October. In the center, the mountain elevations cause a
cooler climate which becomes more humid eastwards. From the center towards the Caribbean
coast the climate is humid, tropical and high in precipitations which is prefect for a
flourishing tropical rainforest. |

other countries will need both a converter and an adpater with two parallel flat pins (as
the used in North America) for any appliances they plan to bring along. |
| Visas: Entry visas will not be required
from citizens of any country, except for the citizens of the countries: Afghanistan,
Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Colombia, Cuba, Haiti, India, Irak, Iran, Jordania, Lebanon,
Libya, Nepal, Pakistan, People's Republic of China, People's Republic of Korea, Sri Lanka,
Somalia, Vietnam, Yugoslavia. Tourist Card (US$ 5.00) must be bought upon arrival to
the country. Traveller must have a passport that will be valid at least six months after
entering the country. Everyone leaving Nicaragua must pay an airport tax of US$ 20.00. |
