| Climate: Due to the fact that Costa Rica is a tropical
country, located between two oceans and composed of a complex topography, a wide range of
climatic conditions are displayed. During the year there is a general temperature
variation of some 21.4 degrees. Temperature variations due primarily to the extreme
differences in altitude. In some regions from sea level to 800 meters, average
temperatures vary from 22 to 27 degrees Celsius. Between 800 meters and 2,500 meters they
vary between 14 to 22 degrees Celsius, while above 2,500 meters, temperatures are usually
lower than 14 degrees Celsius.... ...The rainy season spans from late April
to November , while the dry season usually runs from December to early April. |

American countries,as well as those of European countries, do not need a visa to enter
Costa Rica if traveling with a valid passport. Citizens of some Asian, African, and
Eastern European countries must present a visa upon arrival. Visitors must have a
departure ticket from Costa Rica, as well as a minimum of $30 which is a departure tax.
Upon arrival the respective visitor must receive an entry stamp in his passport valid for
a maximum of 90 days. If a longer stay is desired an extension must be applied for. After
90 days, an exit visa is required before leaving the country. |

| System : Costa Rica is a free, democratic and independent
republic. The Government is primarily composed of three branches of power: the Executive
branch which consists on a President, two Vice Presidents and several Ministries; the
Legislative branch consists of 57 Representatives, who act as a Congress, creating laws;
and the Judiciary branch which is composed of the appellate, criminal and the Supreme
Court, where the magistrates serve for eight year terms. A fourth branch of government
called the Supreme Election Tribunal exists and is responsible for the organization,
monitoring and verification of the electoral process every four years. |
