| Climate:
The coastal zone is
blessed with a warm, tropical climate, while temperatures are cooler and more temperate in
the central region. The year-round average is 25 degrees centigrade (77 degrees
fahrenheit). Throughout the mountain region, and especially in the winter months from
December to April, temperatures drop dramatically, sometimes falling bellow zero degrees
centigrade in Valle Nuevo, Constanza and Pico Duarte. Rains are most likely from May,
August, then November and December. The hurricane season in the
Caribbean is from June to November, with most hurricanes striking in
August and September. |

Passports valid for 6 months after date
of departure required by all except: nationals of Canada and the USA
holding appropriate ID such as a Birth Certificate or a Driver's
Licence; nationals of Germany holding a National Identity Card.
