| Climate: Because of the high altitude of the country, Rwanda
has a pleasant tropical highland climate, with a daily temperature range as great as 14°C
(25°F). Temperature vary considerably from region to region because of the variations in
altitude. The average daytime temperature is about 30°C except in the highlands where it
is much cooler. There are four seasons; long rains from mid March to mid May, short rains
from mid-October to mid-December; long dry period from mid-May to mid-October and short
dry season from mid-December to mid-March. The north-east has more rainfall than other
parts of the country. |
| Visa: Passports valid for the duration of one's stay are
required of all visitors to Rwanda. Visas are also required of all, except passport
holders from Uganda or Tanzania, who may stay up to three months, and transit passengers
merely traversing the nation and onward to a third country via the same or next connecting
flight within 24 hours, as long as they are holding confirmed transit tickets and travel
documentation, and not leaving the airport. There are single- and multiple-entry visas
available. Period of validity is usually for three months. The business traveler needs to
append to the visa application a company letter or guarantee from the Rwandan connection.
Allow two working days for processing, or, an express visa can be issued that same
day......Visas are also not required for American citizens staying in Rwanda for less than
90 days. |
