| Surface : 2.170 Kmq.....The Comoros archipelago consists of four islands, all of volcanic origin,
sprinkled over the Indian Ocean, between the northern tip of Madagascar and the top half
of the Mozambique coastline. Njazidja (Grande Comore), the largest, has two volcanoes with
a plateau connecting them. Nzwani (Anjouan) has three mountain chains and deeper soil
cover. Mwali (Mohéli), the smallest, has central mountain chain and some rain forest.
Mahoré (Mayotte) continues its relationship with France. |

| Climate: The Comoros has a tropical marine climate with two
seasons. The rainy season, lasting from November till May, is hot and humid with
northeastern monsoon and possible cyclones. March is the hottest month. The rest of year
is cooler and drier. Rainfall and temperatures vary from island to island during any month
and even vary on an island due to the topography. The central, higher areas of an island
are often cooler and more moist than the coastal regions |

Visas can be obtained upon arrival, but can only be paid for in French francs, and there
are no money-changing facilities at the airport. Mayotte has the same entry requirements
